Minos System saves on energy in four ways:
- optimizing the cycle of normal operation thanks to the astronomical clock
- carrying out flexible semi-nocturnal partialization by means of command power line carrier up to each single light point
- eliminating dispersions for low factor power (and its relative problems)
- reducing drastically the diurnal switching on, to search for out of order lamps.
Similarly, the anticipated knowledge of breakdowns of each light point and its location allow to efficiently organize maintenance operations, guaranteeing a high level lighting system service, while at the same time containing costs.
Thanks to the adoption of MINOS SYSTEM it has been possible to effectively save on energy, carrying out flexible partialization of the systems.
A number of light points are disactivated in those areas where a smaller flow of people and vehicles were verified, in relation to various days of the week and year:
- tourist areas in November-April
- handicraft areas during the week
- residential areas in central nocturnal zones.
The utilization of Minos has given remarkable improvements to efficiency and maintenance intervention. Council staff assigned to remote control, communicate to the company that carries out maintenance, the necessary intervention, giving indications of every breakdown and their location.
In this way they are minimizing the impact of maintenance on the city, especially in the summer period, in which the tourist season makes movement and intervention more difficult. |
